Vettai Mannan : JAI Interview

Vettai Mannan
Vettai Mannan is a Simbhu movie and I am playing an important role in it. It’s a story of friends. It’s a gangster movie with an interesting screenplay. This is director Nelson’s first movie, who has earlier directed many shows in television. Simbhu and I have been good friends for about 10 years and we were supposed to do a movie together when I finished Bhagavathy. But then things worked out only now. You can see the chemistry we share onscreen and it would be amazing.
Highlight fight in Vettai Mannan
There is a single shot fight sequence in Vettai Mannan that goes on for several minutes. That was my first day shoot for Vettai Mannan. It’s something of a new attempt in Tamil and it will be talked about after the movie is released.
What is your role in Vettai Mannan?
Both our roles are equally important. I do not have a heroine whereas he has three. I am sort of a girl-hater in the movie. We are planning for a combination song but it’s still being worked on.
If you have to dance with Simbu, how do you plan to manage it?
Since we are close friends, it can be worked upon. If I cannot match his steps, he will tone his steps down to my level.
What do you like in Simbu?
Simbu knows how to treat his friends and that is why our friendship lasted for 10 years. We talk a lot about cinema.

Simbu's 'Podaa Podi', which is in the making for a longtime now, is nearing completion. The shooting is almost over but for a song, which will be canned after Diwali. "The movie will sure hit the screens for Valentines Day," says a source very close to the unit. "The song is a romantic number and the comfort level between both the actors is good and this is expected to result in a great chemistry between them," the source further says, adding: "The film has shaped up as an interesting romantic entertainer with never seen before sort of dance sequences."Directed by Vignesh, 'Podaa Podi' has actress-danseuse Shobana in a pivotal role. "Her character forms important part of the script and she is happy about making a comeback on big screen with Podaa Podi. STR too is thrilled to have her on board," the source informs. At present, Simbu is busy with multiple projects, including 'Osthi', 'Vettai Mannan' and 'Kettavan'. "His focus will turn on Podaa Podi once he completes the remaining portions of Osthi," we learn. 'Podaa Podi' is the debut film of Varalaxmi, daughter of Sarath Kumar. This also means its Simbu vs. Jiiva at the box-office for Valentines Day 2012, for it may be recalled that Jiiva's 'Neethane En Ponvasantham' directed by Gautham Menon is touted to see light of the day on Valentines Day.-Sources: - IndiaGlitZ

Sony Music bags 'Osthi' - Breaking News
Osthe audio from October 1st weekend
Osthe starring our Thalaivan STR Silambarasan will have its audio launched by the end of first weekend of October. With the recording of Kalasala done, Thaman has finally wrapped up the composing schedule by giving the final touches to the album today.STR has sung a song in the movie and it is titled Pondaati and the lyrics goes like “Pondati adi nee dhaney yen sweety , will love u till ur a paati , thevayilla vappati !!! Interestingly STR roped in senior singer L.R.Easwari to croon her voice for the song Kalasala “Munni Badnam Hui” . The song also has our father TR sir lending his voice. The song has come up really well and it is gonna be one sort of a huge cracker that’s gonna silence the entire industry. Director Dharani has once again done the magic and has give a set of song that will quash all his previous records like appadi podu from Gilli. When we spoke to STR on the album, he just repeated us his favorite line, Silentaa Iruppom, Soundaa Jai pom… ;) Kalasala is getting shot at Chennai on 2nd October. And we can expect the songs by 6th or 9th of October. Note: Osthe will surpass all your expectations for sure, and I am personally giving assurance to the fans on the songs as I have already listed to it.. The album will be like Manmathan, which gave a huge revenue to the music company. You guys n Gals would love it..
STR speaks on Osthe
Finally it is veteran singer LR Eswari who recorded the “Munni Badnam Hui” Tamil version “Kalasala” along with T Rajendar for STR’s Osthi the remake of Salman Khan’s Dabangg.Thaman has recorded the catchy track. There were earlier reports that Shruthi Haasan will be crooning this item song. STR told sify.com: “Kalasala song is going to be a rocker. All of us including dad, Dharani and Thaman felt that the song will become as catchy and popular, like the original. LR Eswari has given that extra edge to that song.” The buzz is that LR Eswari- T Rajendran combo will make the theatre come alive through the item song picturised on Mallika Sherawat, Sonu Sood and STR. Remember, LR was one time in the roaring 60’s and 70’s the most popular singer rendering numbers picturised as cabarets or folk songs. All songs r done in osthe and final mix on the way …. finished singing the pondati song :) and here is the first few lines of the song hope u guys like it !!! pondati adi nee dhaney yen sweety , will love u till ur a paati , thevayilla vappati !!!
Mallika is Simbu's Kalasalla
Simbu's Osthi's single song featuring him alongside sex-siren Mallika Sharawat is consistently making headlines, thanks to the original, 'Dabaang's super hit song, 'Munni Badnam Hui...' featuring Salman and Malaika Arora. Rumour mills have it that the team 'Osthi' has found their catchy phrase for the Tamil version that goes 'Kalasala'! "The word is supposed to mean joy and it received an immediate nod from Dharani and Simbu", quotes a source close to the team. Thaman is working on the song composition and recording, after which Shruti Haasan will croon this item number, sometime by the end of this week. 'Osthi' featuring Simbu and Richa Gangopadhyay is gearing up for a Diwali release and will see an audio launch on October 6. Sources close to the unit reveal that Santhanam is at his best as always and the comic sequences will be one of the USPs of the film.

Now that Simbu has decided to re-start his long-pending directorial venture 'Kettavan', he is planning to make it big. The actor-filmmaker has said he would make the movie simultaneously in three languages. "Kettavan will be made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, since the story is universal and it would be enjoyed by audience of all languages. I will start the shooting very soon," says Simbu, who is currently busy with three projects. Denying reports appeared in a section of the media that 'Kettavan' is actually a sequel to 'Manmadhan', Simbu says, "Though the style is going to be the same, the story and characters will be different." Happy about joining hands with his good friend Yuvan Shankar Raja once again, Simbu says, "Already one of the songs from the film ('Yennada Nadakudhu Inga...') was out on the net and it is a huge hit."
Simbu on a Break
Young Superstar Simbu has been going through an avid change of phase in his working pattern. ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya’ has been his absolute transition as the actor started choosing unique scripts that includes ‘Vaanam’ that is regarded as one of his best works.Much prior to the release of ‘Vaanam’, the actor completed working on ‘Poda Podi’, a film close on the lines of ‘Step Up’ that is extensively shot across London. On a rapid pace, Simbu managed to shoot some portions for his other film ‘Vettai Mannan’ as well. With his ‘Osthi’ talkie portions completed within short span of time, the actor has flown down to London for a small break and it looks like he may shoot some pending portions for ‘Poda Podi’ as well.
Osthe introduces a new villain to Kollywood
Speaking about his role in Vosthi (Tamil remake of Bollywood super hit Dabangg), John Kokken said:Osthi marks my debut in Tamil as a villain and I am really grateful to director Dharani for giving me this role. When I was told that the hero is Silambarasan, I recollected the hero of Vinnaithandi Varuvayan: an extremely young and handsome hero with a very lean physique. But on reaching the location of Vosthi, I was taken aback when I saw Silambarasan. He was beefed up and looked really tough, an exact contrast to what I had in mind. Later, after I got introduced to him, he told me he had been preparing for this film and pumping some serious iron in the gym. It was fun working with him, especially our action sequence together. He is extremely soft-spoken and a very cooperative superstar. My character in Vosthi is called Vadakeeran hailing from Tirunelveli. My look in Vosthi, very raw and rugged and fierce, is inspired from my Kannada super hit Prithvi. Dharani sir is the second director after Jacob Varghese who has actually used my talent instead of making me look like a prop. Dharani sir is by far the most amazing super fast director I have seen till date. His team is quick, organized, professional and extremely efficient. I thoroughly enjoyed working with him. Shooting for this film gave me an opportunity to work with one of my dream fight masters, one of the best fight masters in India: Kanal Kannan. Master Kanal Kannan is great with his action sequence planning and his style of fights is very unique. I had a blast working with him. I also shared screen space with one of my idol villains Sonu Sood; it was great working and interacting with him. Overall, this film was a great experience and will guarantee me more roles in Tamil films. I am excited and eagerly looking forward to its release.
