Simbu set to start 'Vaaliban'

Even as Gautham Vasudev Menon has announced that he would do another project with Silambarasan in the lead role, the 'Vinnaithandi Varuvaya' hero is getting ready to give a fresh lease of life to his long-pending film 'Vaaliban', we learn. "Vaaliban is getting delayed due to various unavoidable reasons. But Silambarasan has made up his mind to revive the project this time. And he is busy doing ground work for that," sources say. "The shoot of the film, produced by S S Chakravarthy of NIC Arts, will start by the end of this month. It is not just a love story, but a subject with patriotism in its backdrop," add sources. To be directed by Silambarasan himself, the film would have the music score of Yuvan Shankar Raja, who worked earlier with the actor for 'Manmadhan' and 'Vallavan'. Chakravarthy had earlier produced 'Kaalai'.

Simbu ropes in P C Sriram

Top cinematographer P C Sriram will weild the camera for Silambarasan’s ‘Vaaliban’, say sources in the know. The ace technician agreed to work for the film impressed by the storyline and Silambarasan’s approach, it is said. A longtime project of the ‘Young Superstar’, ‘Vaaliban’ was getting delayed due to various reasons. “However, the success of ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaya’ has made Silambarasan, the actor-director of the movie, to revive it,” sources add. Produced by S S Chakravarthy of NIC Arts, the film is a youthful story with a patriotic theme, we learn. “It is about a youngster going the whole hog to save the unity and integrity of the country. The film will be racy from the word go,” sources say. Music for ‘Vaaliban’ will be scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Silambarasan had earlier directed ‘Vallavan’ and assisted in the making of ‘Manmadhan’. He also helped Gautham Vasudev Menon on the sets of ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaya’.

Panneer Selvam to direct Simbu

It was said ‘Renigunta’ director Panneer Selvam will commence a project in Telugu before doing any film in Tamil. But we come to know that the Telugu project is dropped and Panneer Selvam will do his next project in Tamil for NIC Arts. The film will star Silambarasan and not ‘Renigunta’ Johnny as expected before. There is also a second film to be directed by Panneer Selvam for the same banner and that will have Johnny in the lead. So by committing two films for a big banner like NIC Arts the going is great for the director.

It is indeed a old news that Thalaivan Yss Silambarasan sung a song for Thillalangadi starring Jeyam Ravi and the music crooned by U1.It is said the song was a peppy number and that Ravi insisted Yuvan to make Simbu sing the song.
