Vettai Mannan : JAI Interview

Vettai Mannan

Vettai Mannan is a Simbhu movie and I am playing an important role in it. It’s a story of friends. It’s a gangster movie with an interesting screenplay. This is director Nelson’s first movie, who has earlier directed many shows in television. Simbhu and I have been good friends for about 10 years and we were supposed to do a movie together when I finished Bhagavathy. But then things worked out only now. You can see the chemistry we share onscreen and it would be amazing.

Highlight fight in Vettai Mannan

There is a single shot fight sequence in Vettai Mannan that goes on for several minutes. That was my first day shoot for Vettai Mannan. It’s something of a new attempt in Tamil and it will be talked about after the movie is released.

What is your role in Vettai Mannan?

Both our roles are equally important. I do not have a heroine whereas he has three. I am sort of a girl-hater in the movie. We are planning for a combination song but it’s still being worked on.

If you have to dance with Simbu, how do you plan to manage it?

Since we are close friends, it can be worked upon. If I cannot match his steps, he will tone his steps down to my level.

What do you like in Simbu?

Simbu knows how to treat his friends and that is why our friendship lasted for 10 years. We talk a lot about cinema.

Simbu vs. Jiiva this Valentines Day?

Simbu's 'Podaa Podi', which is in the making for a longtime now, is nearing completion. The shooting is almost over but for a song, which will be canned after Diwali. "The movie will sure hit the screens for Valentines Day," says a source very close to the unit. "The song is a romantic number and the comfort level between both the actors is good and this is expected to result in a great chemistry between them," the source further says, adding: "The film has shaped up as an interesting romantic entertainer with never seen before sort of dance sequences."Directed by Vignesh, 'Podaa Podi' has actress-danseuse Shobana in a pivotal role. "Her character forms important part of the script and she is happy about making a comeback on big screen with Podaa Podi. STR too is thrilled to have her on board," the source informs. At present, Simbu is busy with multiple projects, including 'Osthi', 'Vettai Mannan' and 'Kettavan'. "His focus will turn on Podaa Podi once he completes the remaining portions of Osthi," we learn. 'Podaa Podi' is the debut film of Varalaxmi, daughter of Sarath Kumar. This also means its Simbu vs. Jiiva at the box-office for Valentines Day 2012, for it may be recalled that Jiiva's 'Neethane En Ponvasantham' directed by Gautham Menon is touted to see light of the day on Valentines Day.

As trade sources have it that Simbu's 'Osthi' will not see a Diwali release but will release at a later date in November or so, there's more on 'Osthi' now. It is said that the shooting has been put on hold currently as Simbu is working on his six pack avatar to go shirtless for the climax scene! Even as the film went on floors it was revealed that Simbu will be sporting a six pack just like Salman did in the original and it was also said that he was in a stringent diet and took many tips from Sonu Sood regarding the same. And now that the film may not see a Diwali release, Simbu is taking more effort and time for his shirtless scene in the climax where he will flaunt his six packs. Meanwhile the team is busy with work on the audio launch that is scheduled to take place on October 19. The audio CD will have a three flip-cover featuring STR, reveal sources in the know. Right after the first look release of Suriya's '7aum Arivu' fans went crazy over his six pack avatar. Looks like Simbu will soon inspire six packs among film goers as well!

'Osthi' audio on October 19!

Simbu's forthcoming offering, 'Osthi' directed by Dharani will see a grand audio launch of October 19! The film is the remake of Bollywood super hit 'Dabangg' that featured Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha. Although the audio was supposed to be unveiled earlier, there's been a delay and 'Osthi' will see a grand audio launch on October 19. It maybe mentioned that the audio rights for this Simbu - Richa Gangopadhyay starrer have been bagged by Sony Music a couple of days back. The film is nearing its completion with just a song pending to be canned in foreign locales. Recently a grand set was erected at AVM Studios where Simbu, Sonu Sood and Mallika Sherawat shook a leg to 'Kalasalla...', an item number which is also the USP of the film.

We'll get back shortly with more details on the audio launch...

Sony Music bags 'Osthi' - Breaking News

Sony Music has bagged the audio rights of Silambarasan's forthcoming 'Osthi'! 'Osthi' that features Simbu, Richa Gangopadhyay and Sonu Sood in lead roles is gearing up for a Diwali release and is directed by Dharani. The music is scored by Thaman. The songs of 'Osthi' are said to be power-packed, like how STR's songs always are and sources vouch that 'Kalasalla...', an item number featuring Simbu, Mallika Sherawat and Sonu Sood and crooned by T Rajendar and LR Eswari will rocket up the charts. The film's audio will be unveiled at a grand scale on October 6 along with a trailer release. 'Osthi' is the remake of Bollywood super hit 'Dabangg' that had Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha essaying the lead roles. With a director who knows his commercial mantra like the back of his hand, Simbu who is at his mass best, a heroine who has shot to fame even before her debut, Mallika for an item number and Thaman with peppy tunes, 'Osthi' sure boasts off many USPs.

Osthe audio from October 1st weekend

Osthe starring our Thalaivan STR Silambarasan will have its audio launched by the end of first weekend of October. With the recording of Kalasala done, Thaman has finally wrapped up the composing schedule by giving the final touches to the album today.STR has sung a song in the movie and it is titled Pondaati and the lyrics goes like “Pondati adi nee dhaney yen sweety , will love u till ur a paati , thevayilla vappati !!! Interestingly STR roped in senior singer L.R.Easwari to croon her voice for the song Kalasala “Munni Badnam Hui” . The song also has our father TR sir lending his voice. The song has come up really well and it is gonna be one sort of a huge cracker that’s gonna silence the entire industry. Director Dharani has once again done the magic and has give a set of song that will quash all his previous records like appadi podu from Gilli.
When we spoke to STR on the album, he just repeated us his favorite line, Silentaa Iruppom, Soundaa Jai pom… ;) Kalasala is getting shot at Chennai on 2nd October. And we can expect the songs by 6th or 9th of October. Note: Osthe will surpass all your expectations for sure, and I am personally giving assurance to the fans on the songs as I have already listed to it.. The album will be like Manmathan, which gave a huge revenue to the music company. You guys n Gals would love it..

STR speaks on Osthe

Finally it is veteran singer LR Eswari who recorded the “Munni Badnam Hui” Tamil version “Kalasala” along with T Rajendar for STR’s Osthi the remake of Salman Khan’s Dabangg.
Thaman has recorded the catchy track. There were earlier reports that Shruthi Haasan will be crooning this item song. STR told sify.com: “Kalasala song is going to be a rocker. All of us including dad, Dharani and Thaman felt that the song will become as catchy and popular, like the original. LR Eswari has given that extra edge to that song.” The buzz is that LR Eswari- T Rajendran combo will make the theatre come alive through the item song picturised on Mallika Sherawat, Sonu Sood and STR. Remember, LR was one time in the roaring 60’s and 70’s the most popular singer rendering numbers picturised as cabarets or folk songs. All songs r done in osthe and final mix on the way …. finished singing the pondati song :) and here is the first few lines of the song hope u guys like it !!! pondati adi nee dhaney yen sweety , will love u till ur a paati , thevayilla vappati !!!
