Will STR replace Kamal Haasan?

STR has sung a song for the movie, Mahabalipuram, produced by Vinayak The producer, himself, plays the lead in the movie. The movie is directed by Don Sandy, a former assistant of Director Boopathy Pandian.

Yugabharathi pens lyrics, for the music of K, who had earlier composed music for Mugamoodi and Yudham Sei. The song, sung by STR, reportedly, is a New Year Song and is expected to be released on the New Year day.

Ilamai Itho Itho from Sakalakala Vallavan has been Tamil Nadu’s New Year song for almost two decades. Will this new song replace it? We will have to wait and see.

STR's song for Mahabalipuram releases this New Year

The makers of upcoming Tamil comedy-drama "Mahabalipuram" are planning to release a single to coincide with the New Year. Actor Silambarasan aka Simbu has crooned the said track.

"It's a special New Year song, and therefore, we are releasing it this New Year. We thought some popular name attached with the song will add value and attract attention. This is precisely why we roped in Simbu to sing the song," the film's director Don Sandy said.

"Since Simbu is also a great singer, we though it make sense to have him sing for us. The song has come out very well," he added.

Simbu has crooned chartbusters such as "Loosu Penne", "No Money No Honey" and "Diamond Girl" over the past few years.

"Mahabalipuram", which is about the events that happen in the lives of five youngsters, has been inspired by reports published in newspapers.

The film features Vinayak, Angana Roy, Vithika Sheru, Ramesh, Karthik, Vetri and Karna in important roles.

STR To team up once again with VZ Dhorai after THOTTI JAYA.

STR looks to be one of the most busiest men in the industry come 2014. The multi-talented actor is presently chipping away on the Gautham Menon project, ‘Sattendru Marudhu Vaanilai’, and the yet to be titled  Pandiraj flick that will see his much spoken about pairing with ex-flame Nayanthara once again. The other biggie in his kitty being the recently announced Selvaraghavan film, and to top it off, STR is optimistic that Vaalu and Vettai Mannan will see its troubles through and kickstart once again.

Now the latest offer that Simbu has bagged is with director V.Z. Dhorai with whom he had teamed up for the cult film Thotti Jaya. It is believed that the project had materialized due to the warm friendship the two share and the film is said to be an out and out action entertainer set to a big budget. As of now the unit are preparing for an April 2014 kick off and we will have to wait and see if STR will continue to juggle his priorities skillfully as he’s doing at the moment.

STR's Love Anthem in 2014

Wishing his fans on Christmas eve, STR aka Simbu has conformed ‘Love Anthem’ would release in 2014.

Simbu has aired all the rumors that stated T. Rajendra has lodged a complaint against Akon and charged some amount for the same in 2011. “To my shock we found Akon has no idea about my interest to associate with him and adding insult to the injury is huge amount that was paid towards this assignment was all false. After all such base-less reports, I'm lucky enough to join Mr. Akon through Vamseedharan of Tracktical
Entertainment,” STR said.Multi-faceted Simbu's association with international R&B and hip-hop singer Akon was successfully facilitated by Tracktical Entertainment. Vamseedharan said, “Simbu believed us that we would be able to bring down Akon for the Love Anthem, as our Tracktical Entertainment enterprising company had done various well known events in the city.”

During the three months association of Akon and Simbu, 'Love Anthem for World Peace' was shot in Chennai on May 4th, 5th and 6th in 2013. They also confirmed that Akon enjoyed working with STR and the latter was overwhelmed with Akon's patience, talent and hard work.“Working with Mr. Akon is an amazing experience and I thank Mr. Vamseedharan for the excellent relationship. Next year we'll have a big
launch to glorify my association with Akon and I am confident that our relationship will blossom forever in the best interest of Music,” Simbu concluded.

குழந்தை நட்சத்திரமாக சினிமாவில் அறிமுகமானவர் சிம்பு. அதனால், சினிமாவைப்பற்றிய நிறைய விசயங்களை தெரிந்து வைத்திருக்கிறார். அதனால்தான் தன்னிடம் கதை சொல்ல வரும் டைரக்டர்களிடம் கொஞ்சம் விலாவாரியாக கதையை நோண்டுவார். ஆனால், அவர் அப்படி கேட்பதாலே சிலர் அவரது தலையீடு அதிகமாக இருக்கிறது என்று சிம்புவை தவறாக புரிந்து கொள்கின்றனர். இருப்பினும் அந்த நிலை சமீபகாலமாக மாறத் தொடங்கியுள்ளது.

ஆனால், இதுபற்றி சிம்புவிடம் சொன்னபோது உடனே ஒத்துக்கொண்டாராம். கெளதம்மேனனுக்கு கைகொடுத்தது போல் தனக்கும் அவர் தரக்கூடும் என்ற ஒரு சிறு நம்பிக்கையில்தான் அவரிடம் பேசினாராம் செல்வராகவன். ஆனால், அவருக்கு பெரிய நம்பிக்கையை கொடுக்கும் வகையில் உடனே நடித்துத்தருவதாக கால்சீட் கொடுத்து விட்டாராம். 

ஆக, டைரக்டர்களுக்கெல்லாம் ஆதரவு கொடுக்கும் ஆஸ்தான ஹீரோவாகிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்.

STR and Pallavi Subash starring Gautham Menon's upcoming film is progressing in brisk pace and the unit is busy wrapping up the second schedule.Confirming the reports Simbu tweeted, “2nd schedule of gautham's film on full swing... shooting in the day and recording in the night...will b joining pandiraj film from 20th. Sorry not able to tweet regularly... Bin super busy and too much work pressure... lot of super great news comin on the way :)” Gautham Menons's romantic musical entertainer is a quickie and so makers are simultaneously finishing the recording works too. AR Rahman is scoring the music for this untitled film that has cinematography by Marc Koninckx among the crew.

Vaalu is still very much on Simbu's Priority List

 

Fans of 'Young Superstar' Simbu have been eagerly waiting for their star's film to hit the screens, ever since Podaa Podi released more than a year back. His Vaalu and Vettai Mannan have been going through extensive delays. But, the star is now busy with films under directors Pandiraj and Gautham Menon, and his fans are hopeful that they will see him soon on screen.

We have some interesting updates about Vaalu, directed by Vijay Chander and co-starring Santhanam and Hansika. Each crew member is trying his/her best to complete the film and is hoping that the shoot will resume soon. Simbu is also keen to provide his dates on priority basis as and when the shoot resumes. A combination of practical problems and financial issues have resulted in this big deadlock that Vaalu finds itself in.

A source close to the unit says that the film is sure to be noted for Simbu's dialog delivery and Santhanam's comedy timing. It seems Simbu has completed many shots in one take and has aced the North Madras slang in the dialogues. The star is playing a youngster who is just out of college and is entering the job-hunt phase. The film also carries a sentimental father-son angle which everyone can relate to, while Thaman's songs are also sure to be spoken about.

We are eagerly waiting for the day Vaalu resumes and reaches completion.

''Simbu can be the Ranbir Kapoor of the South''

Director Gautham Menon is currently busy with his Simbu film, which has reportedly been titled Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai. But, we hear that there is another film with a similar title which has also been registered. This film has already been censored with a U and been granted tax exemption as well. Will Gautham and team go for a title change? We have to wait and watch. The director meanwhile elaborated on this new film.

"This film doesn't have anything to do with VTV. It is a proper commercial package with romance, some problems, action and a little message too. After my film with Suriya got shelved, I approached Simbu and offered him two to three scripts. He didn't even demand a story narration and asked me to just tell him the date and time that he has to report for the shoots. I anyway narrated the story to him and he was mighty impressed and wanted to immediately start filming too. I thank director Pandiraj for allowing Simbu to manage his dates simultaneously for both of our films.

I have been in regular touch with Simbu regarding VTV 2 but this is a different film. He is a great performer and with the right choices, he can be the Ranbir Kapoor of the South."

Pallavi has been signed on as the female lead. A.R.Rahman, Anthony, Rajeevan and Don MacArthur form a formidable technical crew for this film.
