After the critical and comemrical hit that was Engaeyum Eppothum, Jai has been working with Simbu on Vettai Mannan. The two had also become good friends during the shoot.However, STR had postponed the filming of that action entertainer to do Vaalu, a comedy with Santhanam for the same production house (Nic Arts).
