STR to step into Manoj shoes

 

Buzz making rounds in Kollywood tinsel town that Simbu aka STR is set to do the remake venture of his BFF Manoj’s latest release Potugadu, the remake of Kannada film Govindaya Namaha.Director Pawan Wadeyar has wielded both Kannada and Telugu versions of Potugadus, produced by Lagadapati Sreedhar in Telugu and the latter is willing to fund the Tamil version of the film too.Disclosing the news to press, Lagadapati Sreedhar said, “Simbu has given a nod to play lead in Tamil version of Potugadu to be
directed by Cheran of 'Na Autograph' fame and Santhanam will be seen in a key role. Will post the details soon.”Interestingly, Simbu has sung a couple of songs for the Telugu version of Potugadu for his friend and Tollywood famous hero Manchu Manoj.

Simbu to make Manmadhan 2? TOI

We all know that Manmadhan is a shining star in Simbu's career. The film, which released almost a decade ago in 2004, went on to become a rage among the youth. With Mandira Bedi, Jyothika ,Sindhu Tolani, the glam quotient was definitely up.The latest we hear is that there are plans to make a sequel of the film and this has kicked in a lot of excitement among his fans. Simbu had even given a passing mention that he has Manmadhan 2 in mind. The actor already has Vaalu and Vettai Mannan in hand.Let's wait and watch if Manmadhan 2 joins the list.

Simbu's Next is a Sequel - Indiaglitz

In 2004, Simbu's release 'Manmadhan' was a raging success, which was partly directed by himself, starring four top class heroines in the key roles, with the actor himself acting in dual roles. STR has not had a movie release since last Diwali ('Podaa Podi'), but he has been in currency with the tinsel town, lending his voice to various actors, across languages, paving his way to glory in the field of music. The actor has also been in headlines for his pilgrim trips and his relationship with Hansika. With two films - 'Vaalu' and 'Vettai Mannan' - in queue, both of which has love interest Hansika in the lead, Simbu has firming up his next film. And it looks like the next will be a sequel to the 2004 block buster, 'Manmadhan'. Simbu had mentioned in an interview that he has 'Manmadhan 2' in mind and we hear that he is working on its story now. Looks like we will have the official announcement soon. 'Vaalu' is almost complete and so is 'Vettai Mannan' and the former is expected to release this year.
