Vetrimaaran's second film 'Aadukalam' had Dhanush, the hero of his first venture 'Polladhavan', in the lead. Now his third movie 'Vada Chennai' will have Divya Spandana aka 'Kuthu' Ramya, the heroine of his debut vehicle, as the female lead.The actress, according to sources, was recently narrated the script by Vetrimaaran and is thoroughly impressed. "She may anytime sign on the dotted line for Vada Chennai, after which an official announcement will be made," add sources.Confirming this, Divya says, "Yes, I had discussions with Vetri. I hope I would be part of Vada Chennai." And she adds: "Vetrimaaran is one of the few directors who do thorough homework before going to the sets. We are good friends since Polladhavan days."Divya is more popular in Sandalwood than in Kollywood. Hailing from an influential political family, she recently enrolled herself in the Congress party. It is now official that Silambarasan aka STR and director Vetrimaaran will get together for 'Vada Chennai' which will be produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri under the Cloud Nine Movies banner. However 'Vada Chennai' seems to be only the working title of the movie and the project might see a name change later. Confirming this, Simbu said, "I am happy to announce an untitled movie with National Award winner Vetrimaaran and Cloud Nine Movies. It's a gangster movie and will be a first of its kind in my career. Shooting starts from March 2012". 'Vada Chennai', director Vetrimaran's next project after the National Award winning 'Aadukalam', will bring together two hot and happening personalities of Kollywood and Tollywood. They are STR aka Simbu and Rana Daggubati.Rana Daggubati who is carving a pan India image for himself will be seen in an important role in the film. Andrea Jeremiah will play a pivotal role as well however the hunt for the lead lady is still on. GV Prakash will score the music. It is said that the movie will be an action entertainer set in the backdrop of North Chennai. While recent reports have had Simbus name being taken in the same breath alongside international singers and actors,the latest being Shakira,Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie,it looks like the actor-singer is lonely in the United States. Simbu,who has flown to America to record the final version of his Love Anthem,recently wrote on his micro-blogging page that he is without
company in the United States.And he added that none of his friends have visas to the country either. Though,director Vignesh Shiva,whos helming Poda Podi starring Simbu,seems to be ready to find company on international shores.The director has now claimed that a certain scene in the film will require international A-listers from Hollywood and hes trying to rope in Brangelina or Megan Fox.And hes hinted that he may also have Shakira or Jennifer Lopez for a scene too.
What remains to be seen is whether Simbu will find company in any of these big names or will still continue to be his lonely self.
